N-Dubz frontman Dappy has topped the UK singles chart with No Regrets, the title track to his forthcoming album.
The 24-year-old rapper - whose real name is Dino Contostavlos - knocked X Factor boy band One Direction off the top spot with his first solo single.
Jason Derulo and James Morrison also have new entries in this week's Top 10, debuting at four and five respectively.
In the album chart, British rockers Kasabian are back at number one with their fourth studio album Velociraptor.
The band previously topped the countdown in 2009 with their previous release, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
Veteran crooner Tony Bennett also has a new entry at five with Duets II, a collection that includes the late Amy Winehouse's final recording.
US singer Christina Perri has another new entry at nine with her debut album Lovestrong.
Outside of the Top 10, Sir Mick Jagger's rock "supergroup" Superheavy made its first appearance on the chart in 13th place.
Earlier this year, Dappy told Radio 1's Newsbeat he would be "devastated" if No Regrets did not reach number one.
"I've been waiting for this moment all my life," he said.
"I want it to be one of the best records that comes out this year."
His success comes at the expense of One Direction, whose debut single What Makes You Beautiful drops to three after spending one week in pole position.
Elsewhere in the singles chart, Irish singer Damien Rice sees his 2002 track Cannonball reach number nine.
The plaintive ballad has seen a surge in sales after being covered on X Factor by Welsh maths teacher John Adams.
