Artist Tracey Emin and comedian Stewart Lee will be guest editors of BBC Radio 4's Today show over the festive period.

Also unveiled are London Olympics chief Lord Coe and former House of Commons speaker Baroness Boothroyd.

Since 2003, public figures including Blur's Damon Albarn and Oscar-winner Colin Firth have been invited to steer the current affairs programme between Boxing day and New Year.

Emin appeared on the Today programme in May to launch her latest exhibition.

Ceri Thomas, editor of Today, said "the wonderful thing about the Guest Editors is that they bring us new thoughts and new perspectives".

"This year's line-up will surprise us and our listeners with the ideas which will fill the programme between Christmas and New Year."

Lord Coe is due to edit the programme on 26 December, followed by entrepreneur Mo Ibrahim on 27 December and Emin on 28 December.

Former chairman of Lloyds, Sir Victor Blank, will take the helm on 29 December and Baroness Boothroyd is due to front the programme on 30 December.

New Years Eve will see comedian Stewart Lee in the editor's chair.
