Nicole Kidman and Ang Lee join Cannes jury

Nicole Kidman and Ang Lee will help to choose the 2013 Palme d'Or recipient

Actress Nicole Kidman and Oscar-winning Life of Pi director Ang Lee will join Steven Spielberg on this year's Cannes Film Festival jury.

Chaired by Spielberg, the jury will award the coveted Palme d'Or to one of the 19 films competing at the festival.

Cannes takes place between 15-26 May.

The latest additions join previously announced jurors including We Need To Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay and Django Unchained actor Christoph Waltz.

Waltz picked up his second best supporting actor Oscar for that role at this year's Academy Awards.

Other 2013 jury members include Indian actress Vidya Balan, Japanese director Naomi Kawase, French actor and director Daniel Auteuil and Romanian director Cristian Mungiu.

The winner of last year's Palme d'Or was Michael Haneke's drama Amour, which went on to win best foreign language film at the Oscars.

Spielberg, who has made 27 films during his 40-year career, takes over from Italian director Nanni Moretti, who was president of the jury for the main competition last year.

Only God Forgives, which reunites Drive star Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn will be in competition this year alongside Steven Soderbergh's Liberace biopic, Roman Polanski's Venus In Fur and Inside Llewyn Davis by the Coen brothers.
