Brutalist building: Beauty or beast?

Today the shortlist for the Riba Royal Institute of British Architects Stirling prize for architecture will be announced.

One of the shortlisted projects is the Park Hill estate in Sheffield, which has been revamped into highly desirable flats.

It's a big turnaround for the development which was nominated for demolition by the public in a 2005 Channel 4 programme.

It follows the listing of Erno Goldfinger's Alexander Fleming House, now called Metro Central Heights, in London's Elephant and Castle area last week.

Angela Brady, president of Royal Institute of British Architects, and Sir Simon Jenkins, chairman of the National Trust, debate whether the architectural style of Brutalism, is something that should be celebrated in the awards.
