Wonderground underground - MacDonald Gill's maps

A century ago, travellers in the Tube tunnels deep below London's streets bore witness to a colourful creation on the platform walls - MacDonald Gill's Wonderground map. It was big, bold and bright - and full of visual humour.

That map, and many other of his eye-catching designs, are now on display at Ealing in west London. Take a look here at some of them with Andrew Johnston, whose aunt Priscilla married MacDonald Gill, or 'Max' as he was more commonly known.
