Kaiser Chiefs have been a festival mainstay for nearly 10 years

Kaiser Chiefs' frontman Ricky Wilson has seen his time on The Voice pay off as his band scored a number one album.

The day after the live final of The Voice, on which Wilson served as a judge and mentor, Education, Education, Education & War hit the top.

US soul singer Aloe Blacc also benefited from The Voice, as his track The Man topped the singles chart following his performance on the show.

Blacc's previous hits include I Need a Dollar and Wake Me Up with Avicii.

Paloma Faith was the third artist to feel the effect of having appeared on the BBC one show, seeing her single Can't rely on You jump 53 places to number 35.

Last week's number one single, She Looks So Perfect by 5 Seconds of Summer, tumbled down the chart to number 10.

John Legend's All Of Me climbed to number two, while other top five singles included Duke Dumont I Got U and Love by Route 94 featuring Jess Glynne.

The death of legendary Chicago house DJ Frankie Knuckles earlier in the week saw his track Your Love, which has been sampled on many records, enter the UK chart at number 29.

The Kaiser Chiefs have previously released four studio albums and are regular fixtures on the festival circuit.

Out Among the Stars features both Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter Cash

This year, Wilson stepped in to the shoes of The Script's Danny O'Donoghue when he took over as a judge and mentor for the third series of The Voice.

In reaching number one, the Kaiser Chiefs knocked X Factor winner Sam Bailey's debut, The Power of Love, off the top and into second place, followed by George Michael's Symphonica.

A posthumous album from Johnny Cash, rediscovered and produced by his son John Carter Cash, entered the chart at number four. Out Among the Stars features 12 previously unreleased tracks, with some featuring his late wife, June Carter Cash, and their friend Waylon Jennings.
