Celebrities from previous series of Strictly Come Dancing will return for a special Christmas edition of the show.

Former host Sir Bruce Forsyth will front the show which sees singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, gymnast Louis Smith and Russell Grant return to the dancefloor.

S Club 7's Rachel Stevens, actress Lisa Riley and Watchdog's Chris Hollins complete the six-strong line-up.

The festive show has typically seen a field of new stars take to the floor for the Christmas day show on BBC One.

This year's contestants will be asked to perform a panto-inspired routine, in their bid to secure the winners' trophy.

Both Hollins and Smith are previous winners of the show in 2009 and 2012 respectively, while Stevens was a runner-up in 2008.

Dancer Robin Windsor will also return to the show, reviving his original partnership with Riley - best known for playing Mandy Dingle on Emmerdale.

Sir Bruce will be joined by regular host Tess Daly and Strictly's panel of judges: Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood.
