Mark Ronson continued his reign at the top of the UK singles chart, notching up a fifth week at number one.

Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars has spent six weeks in the chart, all at the top except for when it was briefly ousted by X Factor winner Ben Haenow.

Philip George's Wish You Were Here remained at two, while Hozier's Take Me to Church rose to three, having spent 25 weeks in the charts.

The album chart saw George Ezra back at number one.

Ezra, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith have been swapping places at the top of the chart since the beginning of December, with the trio of British artists notching up a combined 93 weeks inside the top 40.

Ezra's Wanted on Voyage knocked Smith's In the Lonely Hour down to three, with the number two slot filled by Sheeran's X.

With a dearth of new album releases around, the biggest climber was American jazz singer Gregory Porter with Liquid Spirit, which rose from 104 to 13.

The highest new entry was Carole King with her 1971 debut album Tapestry. Her appearance may be down to it featuring in a mash-up with Alanis Morissette on US TV series Glee.

The singles chart also saw little in the way of new tracks, with the top five rounded out by Olly Murs ft Demo Lovato with Up and Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud, which has been in the charts for 30 weeks.

Sia's Elastic Heart the biggest mover of the week.

Rising from 61 to 13, the song has proved controversial because of its video, which sees actor Shia LeBeouf writhing around a cage in a "dance battle" with 12-year-old contemporary and reality TV star Maddie Ziegler.

The video, which Sia has strongly denied promotes paedophilia, has been viewed more than 57 million times on YouTube.

Her video for Chandlier, also featuring a dancing Ziegler, has clocked up 463 million views in the eight months since its release. It managed to rise up the UK singles chart from 22 to 19.
