Meet the Author: Helen Macdonald

The Costa Book of the Year Award, worth £30,000 to the winning author, will be presented next week.

One of the UK's oldest and richest literary prizes, it has been going since 1971.

There are five categories; best novel, first novel, children's book, poetry book and biography of the year.

And each day this week Nick Higham will be talking to one of the five winners.

Today it's the turn of Helen Macdonald, whose book H is for Hawk, about training a goshawk while coming to terms with the sudden death of her father, has won the Costa Biography Prize.
