Mark Ronson gets seventh week at top of UK singles chart

Ronson's Uptown Special is ranked third in the album chart

Mark Ronson has continued his reign at the top of the UK singles chart, notching up a seventh week at number one.

Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars has spent eight weeks in the chart, all at the top except for when it was briefly ousted by X Factor winner Ben Haenow.

The track has now accrued as many weeks at number one as Leona Lewis's Bleeding Love in 2007.

The album chart saw Meghan Trainor with her debut album Title reach number one.

In the singles chart, Hozier's Take Me To Church climbs one place to reach a new chart peak at number two, while Black Eyed Peas' frontwoman Fergie rockets over 120 places to land at this week's number three with her song LA Love (La La).

But it was Ronson's track that was also the most streamed track of the past seven days, notching up over 2.3m listens.

'Good funk music'

He said: "It's such an incredible thing to be number one even for one week.

"It's my first number one of any single I've ever had, so to be number one for seven weeks is something that just blows my mind, it's amazing.

"It's cool because it means that you guys all like what we like, which is good funk music and dance music played by musicians. It's insane, so thank you."

In the album chart Meghan Trainor's Title finished 5,000 copies ahead of nearest rival, Ed Sheeran's who takes second place with his album X.

Last week's number one, Uptown Special by Mark Ronson, fell to number three this week, while Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour and George Ezra's Wanted On Voyage held steady numbers four and five respectively.
