Covid vaccines have 'prevented 60,000 deaths'
Covid-19 vaccines have prevented 60,000 deaths, the latest Public Health England data analysis suggests.
Prof Jonathan Van-Tam broke the news live on the BBC while answering questions from young audience members.
The deputy chief medical officer for England says it shows the benefit of the "secret work" vaccines do.
Asked if he was referring to the UK or England, he said he did not have that information but believes it is for England.
