Smiles and joy inside Mamdani's victory party

The BBC's Nada Tawfik reported from inside winning New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's victory party.

Mamdani, 34, became the first Muslim mayor and youngest person in over a century to lead the largest city in the US.

US President Donald Trump had previously called the candidate a "communist" and threatened to cut NYC's federal funding if Mamdani won.
