In pictures: Queen's Coronation 1953

Sixty years ago on 2 June 1953 crowds lined the streets of London to celebrate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
These pictures which capture some of the atmosphere of the day were taken by photographers of Magnum Photos, a picture agency established in the wake of World War II.
Werner Bischof's pictures look at the whole day's events, from those camping out...
... to the rows of policemen on duty...
... and including this constable radioing his colleagues.
Inge Morath photographed a woman using a mirror in an attempt to see over the heads of those between her and the procession, while a taller gentleman looks on.
A rather more elaborate periscope device was used by this woman.
One of Magnum Photo's founders, Robert Capa, was also there and seemingly surrounded by stars of the silver screen whom he captured through the lens of his camera. Here actress Lauren Bacall is seen with her own movie camera...
... and here John Huston and Humphrey Bogart find something of interest.
Despite the weather it is estimated that 3 million people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the new monarch as she made her way to and from Buckingham Palace in the Gold State Coach.
