The reward will be paid by Crimestoppers to anyone that passes on information that secures a conviction.

Sgt Matt Haslam said: “These types of vehicles are unlicensed, uninsured and often the rider has no driving licence. The rider often doesn’t wear the required safety equipment, which increases the risk of serious injury being caused.

The couple want to make the supply of medicinal cannabis safer so people don't have to put themselves at risk in accessing it.

Mr Deacon said he suffers from pain in his hands after an accident and he uses "vaporised cannabis flowers" to help with the aches.

Ms Lawrie said there are "lots of people" who need access to cannabis for medical reasons. She claims some of them are having to turn to the unregulated "black market".

The Home Office has said there are no plans to legalise the Class B drug as there is "clear scientific and medical evidence that cannabis is a harmful drug".

It said: "There are established processes in place for cannabis based products for medicinal use to be dispensed and supplied through appropriately licensed pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers.”
