In the words of Strictly judge Anton Du Beke, last week’s semi final showcased “double the dances and double the jeopardy” as five couples battled it out for a place in the final.

Top of the combined leader board was JLS star JB Gill, scoring a near perfect 79 with his salsa and paso doble - all on his 38th birthday.

It was the first perfect salsa score in the last six years of Strictly. The last salsa 40 was for Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev in the 2018 final.

And The Only Way Was Home for reality TV star Pete Wicks, who lost the dance-off to influencer Tasha Ghouri - who scored a perfect 40 in the second dance of the night.

Myself, Noor Nanji, Matt Spivey and Hollie Cole will be providing commentary throughout the night, catching the judges comments and waltz-ing you through the finalists’ journeys on the show.

What a season it has been, with plenty of firsts for Strictly.
