    Tim Allebone sent these photos of flooding in Easton Maudit, near Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, yesterday.

    He says the water "swept away a car and a footbridge".

    "Having farmed in the village for 49 years, I've never seen such severe flooding," he says.

  2. 'Staff unable to get to work'published at 08:49 British Summer Time 23 September

    Broadmead Lower School in Stewartby, near Bedford, says it is closed as staff couldn't get to work.

    "Closed due to adverse weather conditions - flooding," a spokesperson said.

    "Roads impassable and staff unable to get into work. We will be open tomorrow."

  3. 'Chaos all day'published at 08:43 British Summer Time 23 September

    It was "chaos all day" on Sunday in Dunstable.

    As well as the road under Duck Bridge being flooded, West Street was closed at one point and shops along the High Street were flooded.

    Many residents and business owners were seen trying to bail water out of the properties using buckets.

  4. 'All train services cancelled'published at 08:40 British Summer Time 23 September

    National Rail has cancelled all train services between Bletchley near Milton Keynes and Bedford on Monday morning.

    It said "urgent" repairs were needed, but due to the heavy rain and flooding, Network Rail had been unable to carry these out.

    Rail replacement buses are in place.

    "Urgent repairs to the track are needed between Bletchley and Bedford, however due to heavy rain [and] flooding... Network Rail are unable to carry out this work," a spokesperson said in a social media post on X, external.

    "As a result of this, all train services have been cancelled. Disruption is expected until 12:45."

    The road under Dunstable's Duck Bridge was underwater at 21:00 on Sunday.

    Church Street had about three feet (0.9m) of water on its surface according to witnesses.

    A number of cars were stranded.

  6. Bedfordshire schools close amid 'hazardous' conditionspublished at 08:22 British Summer Time 23 September

    Numerous schools across Bedfordshire have closed on Monday due to the weather.

    Many are describing the conditions as "hazardous".

    Central Bedfordshire College also said it has had to close its Kingsway campus as well as its Leighton Buzzard, The Hub, The Incuba, The Store and Luton Road sites.

    The PAD and Dallow Road however remain open.

    Schools closed in Bedfordshire so far include:

    • Harlington Lower School
    • Harlington Pre School
    • Harlington Upper
    • Hockliffe Lower School
    • Manshead CE Academy
    • St Marys CofE Clophill VA
    • Sundon Lower School

    The latest on the closures is on the Central Bedfordshire Council website, external.

  7. Amber weather warning issuedpublished at 08:21 British Summer Time 23 September

    An amber weather warning has been issued by the Met Office covering parts of Northamptonshire.

    It is in place until 21:00 and warns that homes and businesses could be flooded while some communities could be cut off due to high water levels.

    Some people may also experience power cuts and disruption to services that connect their homes.

    A wider yellow weather warning is similarly in place covering the rest of the region until 23:59.

    It means people can expect some disruption to roads, transport services and businesses.

    Major roads have been closed while schools have shut and businesses have been flooded.
