    Good morning and welcome along to our court coverage as the youngest person involved in the recent riots is due to be sentenced.

    A 12-year-old boy from Southport, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was seen on CCTV throwing an object towards police officers after violent disorder broke out in the town at the end of July.

    We will also be bringing you updates from the case of a 16-year-old boy from Bolton who pleaded guilty to violent disorder. He previously admitted to “participating in riots” in the town on 4 August and is also due to be sentenced later today.

    Separately, six people each alleged to have been involved in disorder in Tamworth are due to enter pleas on a variety of charges including violent disorder, assaulting a police officer, and causing unnecessary suffering to a police dog.
