Ellie and Vito have just tangoed their way through a dramatic Abracadabra by Lady Gaga - screaming "yeahhh we did it" as it came to an end.

They were met with a standing ovation from the audience.

The judges - seemingly quite magicked by their performance - have given their say.

Motsi tells Ellie: "You make a statement and you execute it."

She says at times Ellie was a little bit ahead of Vito, but calls her a "fighter" and adds that she "keeps fighting back".

Agreeing, Shirley adds that Ellie looked a bit nervous at the beginning, but "took a deep breath" and did it.

She calls her a "fantastic performer", praising in particular her promenade position.

    And for the scores?

    Craig: 6

    Motsi: 7

    Shirley: 7

    Anton: 7

    Total: 27

  2. Abracadabra, it's Ellie and Vito!published at 18:52 GMT 1 November

"With a haunting dance, now you're both in a trance"It's time to cast your spell on the night."

They're just some of the lyrics in Lady Gaga's Abracadabra, which Ellie Goldstein and Vito are dancing the Tango to this evening.

Last week, Ellie took on not one, but five icons - Baby, Posh, Ginger, Scary and Sporty - dancing to a Spice Girls mash-up.

Judge Craig told her he loved her energy - but said he wanted to see more hip rotation.

Can Ellie deliver on that - or as Lady Gaga puts it, cast a spell on Craig?

    Let's see.

Vicky and Kai are dancing the American Smooth in an atmospheric pool of light to the dramatic build-up of Total Eclipse of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler.

They're the second couple that will be performing this dance - the other duo being Harry and Karen.

It all ends with a hug between the dancers and a huge round of applause from the audience.

"You didn't have to be nervous at all" says head judge Shirley. "I thought it was a huge improvement (on last week)."

Anton agrees, calling it a terrific performance, "breathy and bold." The heel turn gets a special mention as "marvellous."

Motsi sums it up simply: "You are a contender for the final."

Let's now turn to the judges for their assessment of that American Smooth:

    Craig: 7

    Motsi: 8

    Shirley: 8

    Anton: 8

    Total: 31

  4. Vicky and Kai hope to bring the drama with a Total Eclipse of The Heartpublished at 18:43 GMT 1 November

TV presenter Vicky Pattison and her partner Kai Widdrington fell just shy of securing the highest score last week – they instead tied for second with their freestyle dance to Cheryl’s hit Fight for This love – so they’ll likely be bringing their fighting spirit again tonight.

The pair will be dancing to Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of The Heart when they tackle the American Smooth.

On Sunday night, Celeb Traitors star Cat Burns will make a guest appearance on Strictly.

Fresh from Ardross Castle, where she quickly established herself as the show’s pot-stirring, strategic mastermind, the singer will sail into the results show for a special performance.

She’s got a new album out, How To Be Human, which my colleague Mark Savage said showed a “softer side” to the Traitors star.

Sunday night's results show will see a special, spooky Monsters' Ball dance.

But it's not all fun and games.

The results show will also see the two bottom placed couples go head-to-head in the dreaded dance-off, with both competing for a place in next weekend’s contest.

Halloween week isn’t Strictly’s only annual tradition.

Every year, there are a series of special shows which fans look forward to.

Others include Icons week, which took place last week, and there’s also Musicals week, where the couples perform routines inspired by hit musicals.

And of course, let’s not forget Blackpool week, which takes place in the famous Tower Ballroom.

For many Strictly celebs and professionals, getting to Blackpool week – which usually takes place around halfway through the competition – is a major goal.

  11. Charli XCX, Lady Gaga and Benson Boone on the cards tonightpublished at 17:51 GMT 1 November

    Noor Nanji

For me, Halloween week is all about the costumes – and the songs.

And it’s a particularly excellent line up this year, with tracks by Charli XCX, Lady Gaga and Benson Boone in the mix.

We can expect judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke to embrace the Halloween spirit too - with all eyes on what outfits they might opt for.

Halloween week is also a milestone, as week six is almost halfway through the competition.

Fans can expect to enjoy plenty of tricks and treats from the vampires, zombies and skeletons.

But as always – the couple whose performance doesn't quite cast a spell will be banished during Sunday night's results show.

Last week, Emmerdale star Lewis Cope and his dance partner Katya Jones led the pack with 34 points, after their Johnny Cash Quickstep impressed the judges.

La Voix brought the laughs - belting out Cher's Believe before diving into a Salsa to Strong Enough. The judges noted there was room for improvement, but La Voix's charisma on the dancefloor was lauded.

Other highlights included a mood-boosting dance by Ellie Goldstein and her partner Vito Coppola, who packed a punch with a dynamic Salsa to a Spice Girls medley. Goldstein even got a heart-warming video message from her favourite Spice Girl, Baby.

Despite some impressively garish trousers, YouTuber George Clarke hit a bum note with his Jive to Harry Styles' As It Was. Craig Revel Horwood, acerbic as ever, called it "flat footed", and Clarke and his partner Alexis Warr crashed out with the lowest score this evening - at 27.

But in the end, it was Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and his partner Lauren Oakley who left the competition following a dance off against Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin.

  14. Strictly Come... trick-or-treating?published at 17:30 GMT 1 November

Though All Hallows' Eve is now behind us, the spooktacular vibes are carrying on for one more night as the Strictly Come Dancing couples prepare to bring us a Halloween edition of the show.

Previous iterations of this ghoulish event have showcased scarecrows, devils and monsters - oh my! - so it's no surprise this special is widely seen as one of the highlights of the season.

But tonight's programme will also mark a significant moment for our hosts - Claudia and Tess - as it will be the last time the duo host a spooky edition of Strictly, after we learned last week they plan to step down at the end of the current series.

Fret not, however, as we're sure the pair and the 10 remaining couples have come prepared with a few tricks (or treats) up their sleeves to keep us entertained throughout the show, which kicks off at 18:35.
