    Police received a call at 23:57 BST last night with a report of a man with a suitcase acting suspiciously on Clifton Suspension Bridge.

    When officers arrived at the site within ten minutes the man had left and they found a suitcase.

    Welcome to our live coverage after two suitcases containing human remains were found at the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol.

    Police were called after a man with a suitcase was seen acting suspiciously on the bridge just before midnight on Wednesday.

    When officers arrived less than ten minutes later the man had left, leaving the suitcase behind. A second suitcase was found nearby a short time later.

    Avon and Somerset Police said a search of the area was carried out with the support of the National Police Air Service and HM Coastguard but the man has not been located.

    Police said their "immediate priority" was to locate the man and identify the human remains.
