  1. Police dog van attackedpublished at 10:25 British Summer Time 16 September

Crowcroft was involved in trouble at about 12:55 BST, before fires were being set outside the hotel.

A police dog van was being deployed to the location as it had a loudspeaker, and it was hoped a chief inspector could speak to the crowd and ask them to disperse.

However, when he began to speak, the crowd turned to the van and started to rock it, "trying to overturn it", Ms Hollis tells the court.

A PC in the van feared the vehicle might be tipped and set alight, so he began to slowly try and drive away from the area, we hear.

  2. Case of Luke Crowcroft being called onpublished at 10:22 British Summer Time 16 September

We're hearing the case of Luke Crowcroft.

Prosecutor Stephanie Hollis is outlining the background to the case.

She explains how the charge of violent disorder relates to large-scale trouble outside the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham on 4 August.

There were 400 people outside the hotel during a protest, which soon turned into violence. Staff and residents "feared for their safety" when windows on the lower floor of the hotel were smashed.

The impact on police officers was huge, with dozens being injured.

  3. Preparing to get under waypublished at 10:16 British Summer Time 16 September

In court seven, Her Honour Judge Sarah Wright has taken her seat.

There's a case to be heard before we start the sentencings of those involved in the disorder from 4 August.

We believe there will be six people appearing in court or on a video link today, some to be sentenced, while others will have a chance to plead to the charges laid out against them.

Getting through the security at Sheffield Crown Court this morning was slow, as it is expected to be a very busy day.
