A heatwave continues to grip Europe as the UK records a provisional 34.7 (96.2F) high in London, making it the hottest day of the year so far
Cooler conditions are being felt across other parts of the UK as the Met Office confirms England has experienced its hottest June on record
Elsewhere in Europe, 50,000 people have been evacuated during wildfires in western Turkey, two have died in Italy and parts of Portugal and Spain break records for their highest daily June temperature
Meanwhile in France, a red alert - the highest extreme heat warning - is in place across 16 departments including Paris, where the top of the Eiffel Tower will remain closed until tomorrow

The UK Health Security Agency warns the public in England when high or low temperatures could damage their health, it includes both heat health and cold health alerts
Heat health alerts are issued between 1 June and 30 September, and cold health alerts are published between 1 November and 30 March.
As well as warning the public, the system sends guidance directly to NHS England, the government and healthcare professionals during periods of adverse weather.
As a reminder, an amber heat-health alert is in place until 18:00 BST tomorrow.

The hot weather expands to many more parts of England and east Wales today with temperatures widely getting up to between 28 and 32C (82.4 to 89.6F)
The highest temperature is likely around the Greater London and Bedfordshire areas with 34C.
There’s even a low chance of reaching 35C.
If the temperature rises above 34C, it would be in the top 3 hottest June days on record.
The hottest June day was in 1976 at 35.6C, currently followed by 34.5 C in 2017 and 34.0 C in 2019.

Temperatures of 34C are possible in central and eastern parts of England according to the Met Office - the hottest June day on record was recorded at 35.6C in 1976.
The East Midlands, South East, South West, London, and the East of England are all subject to an amber heat-health alert, while Yorkshire and Humber and the West Midlands are under a less serious yellow alert.
NHS services are likely to be stretched as a result, and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is warning that all the areas under alert are likely to experience a rise in deaths among the vulnerable.
If you had plans to get out and about today, it's worth checking they aren't affected while you pack your sunhat.
Glastonbury festival-goers have already been advised to begin making their way home before 06:00 BST this morning before temperatures rise.
And, at the Wimbledon tennis championships, strawberries, cream, and shade are likely to be in high demand as the event opens its doors - and the tournament could see its hottest opening day ever.
