    I've been at the coastguard lookout at Pendennis in Cornwall where people have been watching the waves and the wind.

    The wind was strong but then there was suddenly hail.

    Now the sun is up and it's calm - it's been four seasons in a day.

    What is the latest with weather warnings today and into the week ahead?

    A yellow wind warning is in place, external across Devon and Cornwall and will apply to until 13:00 GMT.

    Another wind warning covering a large chunk of Devon is in place until 17:00 GMT, external.

    A yellow warning for rain, external applies for both counties until 06:00 GMT on Monday.

  4. Power cuts rising in Devon and Cornwallpublished at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    More than 4,500 properties are now without power in Devon and Cornwall as strong winds sweep across the South West.

    National Grid says 2,968 properties have been hit in Cornwall, with another 1,488 in Devon.

  5. Trains cancelled to Newquay due to floodingpublished at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Flooding between Par and Newquay means that the line is blocked, National Rail says., external

    Trains running between these stations have been cancelled and disruption is expected until the end of the day.

    Replacement bus servcies are running between Par and Newquay calling at all stations.

    Train travellers can use their tickets on these Go Cornwall, external routes at no extra cost:

    • 21 between St Austell, St Columb Road, Quintrell Downs and Newquay
    • 25 between St Austell, Par, Quintrell Downs and Newquay

    People are being urged to stay away from the coast due to crashing waves.

    Maggie Howell from Falmouth Coastguard says the conditions out at sea are "really, really bad".

    She says: "Don't go trying to go wave watching or anything like that because not only are you risking yourself, you're also risking the people that will come out and try to help if you get into trouble."

  7. Flight to Newquay diverted to Gatwickpublished at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    A Ryanair flight that was expected to land at Cornwall Airport Newquay at 07:35 was diverted to London Gatwick, with other flights delayed, the airport, external says.

    At Exeter Airport, flights to and from Belfast and Jersey have been cancelled.

    Other flights have taken off - including a flight to Malaga and London Gatwick that both departed from Newquay.

    The strongest winds are starting to transfer east, however the yellow wind warning remains in place for the South West.

    A gust of 83mph (133 km/h) was recorded in the last hour at Berry Head in Devon.

    Additional wind warnings remain in place for Monday, with south-westerly winds forecast to gust 60-70mph (96-112km/h) throughout the day.

    Here is a round-up of what has been happening in the South West so far:

    • More than 3,000 properties are without power in Devon and Cornwall
    • Flights to and from Cornwall Airport Newquay and Exeter Airport have been cancelled and one flight due to land at Newquay was diverted to London Gatwick
    • The strongest gusts so far were in St Mary's in the Isles of Scilly 79mph (127km/h) and at Berry Head in Devon 68mph (109km/h)
    • Crews are out in both counties clearing fallen trees

    More than 3,000 properties are without power in Devon and Cornwall, National Grid, external says.

    It says more than 2,300 properties are without electricity in Cornwall and more than 1,000 properties are affected in Devon.

  11. Met Office extends wind warningpublished at 11:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    A Met Office, external yellow warning for wind has been extended in Cornwall and parts of Devon until 13:00 GMT.

    The wind warning had only been in force until 11:00 before it was extended.

    A yellow warning for rain remains in place for both counties until 06:00 on Monday.
