The court hears a recording of a voice memo that Combs sent "Jane" after she expressed frustration that he had spent time with a different woman.

Combs sounds agitated and calls her “[expletive] crazy.”

He tells her the other woman just wanted to exercise with him and he could do what he wanted.

The prosecution asks "Jane" why, if she knew he was dating other women, she was jealous.

"Jane" responds that she was frustrated that Combs wanted her to engage in “hotel nights” while she believed he was giving other women the “quality time” she wanted.

She testifies that she often wrote herself messages in the notes app on her phone to express her feelings and sometimes shared them with Combs.

Toward the end of the relationship, which ended later in 2024, Combs told her she hadn’t told him she didn’t want to do the hotel nights, and he hadn’t realised how she felt.

She says that in reviewing her messages from the time they were together she realised she had been trying to tell him she was unhappy with their situation.

Warning: This post contains details some readers may find distressing

"Jane" testifies that the frequent “hotel nights” took a physical toll on her.

She tells the court that she frequently contracted infections and felt pelvic pain "100% of the time" following those nights.

"Jane" says she “probably” did not tell Combs about these issues “because I just didn’t want to indicate any negativity” she says.

  5. 'Jane' asked why she hired escort for 'hotel night' she didn't wantpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 6 June

    Kayla Epstein
    Reporting from court

"Jane" finishes telling the story of the New York "hotel night", in which she called in a man she and Combs had hired previously to replace one she was not attracted to.

The prosecutor asks why "Jane" sought to arrange the “hotel night” with the other man if she’d told Combs she no longer wanted to participate in these encounters.

"Jane" pauses for a long time, saying it’s hard to answer.

She wanted to make her partner happy, she finally says.

Had Combs brought up the matter of paying for her rent at that point, prosecutors asked. "Jane" says yes, but the recollection was fuzzy.

We're hearing more about how this trip to New York unfolded.

"Jane" tells the court that she and Combs went to a suite at the Trump Hotel, which assistants had set up for a “hotel night".

He had given her ecstasy, she says, but she was not attracted to the man Combs brought to join them.

After a time, "Jane" tells the court that she took Combs into the bedroom and said she did not want to go forward. The man was dismissed.

"Jane" then testifies that she messaged a man who had joined them on several previous occasions, asking him to join them in New York.

She bought him a flight from Atlanta, Georgia to New York, she says.

The three engaged in a “hotel night” and afterward, she arranged for an assistant of Combs's to leave several thousand dollars in cash in an envelope at the hotel front desk for the man.

After lunch break we continue with "Jane’s" testimony.

We hear about a trip to New York that "Jane" took to visit Combs in 2023. She testifies that she believed she would be spending time one-on-one with Combs.

On the plane to New York, she says Combs messaged her to ask if she wanted ”entertainment”, which she understood to mean another man to join them.

“My high of seeing my lover was shot down,” "Jane" says, describing her disappointment.

In New York, the two began “bickering” about the "hotel nights", "Jane" tells the court. She told him she was “done with this, I didn’t want do this.”

Combs was defensive, she says, but told her they didn’t have to do the "hotel nights".

As court resumes following the lunch break, let's take a moment to revisit the charges that Sean "Diddy" Combs faces.

The 55-year-old was arrested in September 2024.

In this federal criminal case being heard in New York, Combs is charged with racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Many of the most severe allegations relate to the racketeering conspiracy charge. This includes accusations of kidnapping, drugging, and coercing women into sexual activities, sometimes using firearms or threats of violence.

He has pleaded not guilty and denied all allegations against him. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison.

    Reporting from court

Court is currently breaking for lunch, but just before the break, we were hearing from "Jane" about one particular difficult hotel night.

"Jane" told the court on her birthday in 2023, Combs flew her out to Miami. She says she expected dinner and drinks with her partner, but instead she ended up in a three-day-long "hotel night".

She says she didn’t want to partake, but did so anyway because she didn’t want to disappoint Combs.

Combs called in three separate male entertainers to have sex with her after dinner, and the session went on for multiple days.

She says that, at times, Combs was loving, giving her a cake and birthday presents, and at other times was upset, like when she asked for male escorts to wear protection.

This morning has been solely dedicated to the testimony of "Jane", the girlfriend of Sean "Diddy" Combs until his arrest in 2024. Here's what the court has heard, and a reminder that there are distressing details described below:

    • "Jane" testified that she observed Combs's employees delivering drugs to him, and said she was once instructed to move drugs from LA to Miami
    • She said she used drugs to make "hotel nights" - hours-long events in which Combs would watch her have sex with escorts - seem less real
    • The court heard details of one "hotel night" in which "Jane" said she remained sober, describing feeling "disgusting, repulsed" afterwards
    • Visibly distressed as she testified, she said Combs looked "disgusted" with her after she cried following one "hotel night"
    • She said that Combs encouraged her to hold explicit video calls and exchange text messages with escorts that had been hired for "hotel nights"
    • As a reminder, "Jane" said yesterday that she was in love with Combs and participated in the "hotel nights" to make him happy, but did so against her will - Combs has denied all charges
  11. 'Jane' says she and Combs would both organise 'hotel nights'published at 17:36 British Summer Time 6 June

    Kayla Epstein
    Reporting from court

Both Combs and "Jane" made arrangements with men who would join them during “hotel nights", she testifies.

"Jane" tells the court that she coordinated with two “entertainers” while Combs arranged others.

Between May 2021 when these encounters began until she and Combs took a break in their relationship in October 2023, "Jane" said the “hotel nights” happened “sometimes every week,” or “every other week.”

The frequency decreased when Combs and "Jane" started seeing each other again starting in February 2024, she testifies.

Combs was arrested in September 2024.

  12. Combs encouraged explicit texting with escorts, witness sayspublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 6 June

    Kayla Epstein
    Reporting from court

"Jane" testifies about several men that Combs allegedly brought in to join them for “hotel nights”.

She says that Combs wanted her to ask two of the men for explicit photos and encouraged her to engage in phone sex over FaceTime while he was present, "Jane" tells the court.

"Jane" says she did not engage in these explicit commutations when Combs wasn’t around or asking her to, and that her conversations with the men were more “bland” when Combs wasn’t there.

“When I’m in my sober mind receiving these messages” it’s not “something I want to see, ”Jane" says

  13. 'Jane' describes drug networkpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 6 June

    Sakshi Venkatraman
    Reporting from court

“Jane” is telling the court that Combs had a network of employees that would help procure drugs.

On one occasion, "Jane" testifies that Combs’s chief of staff Kristina Khorram instructed her to pick up a package of drugs to bring from Los Angeles to the mogul's Miami mansion.

“Is this safe?” "Jane" says she asked Khorram, to which she replied: “It’s fine, I do it all the time.”

"Jane" tells the court that she picked the package up from a member of Combs’s security, put it in check-in luggage and brought it to Miami, where she discovered it was full of ecstasy.

"Jane" says she often saw Combs call his assistants and security to bring drugs to hotels where they had their encounters with the escorts.

Remember: One of the charges Combs faces is racketeering. In order to prove that, prosecutors have to show that he was running a criminal enterprise and conspiring to commit crimes.

“Jane” says there were two occasions when she did not take drugs during a “hotel night.”

She tells the court that in October of 2023, she was pushing Combs to get sober and healthier.

He agreed, she says, but told her they should have one last sobriety party. It lasted 12-18 hours.

She testifies that after going through the “typical routine” with two escorts, she wasn’t feeling well and threw up in the bathroom.

After, according to her testimony, Combs came in and said: “Good, you’ll feel better now…let’s go, the third guy is here.”

Emotional, “Jane” says she “hated it so much.” Describing how she felt after the sobriety party, she says: “Disgusted, repulsed, so mad at myself for doing that.”

The court is now taking a short break.

“Jane” tells the court that the longest “hotel night” lasted three and a half days.

On average, she says they would last 24 to 30 hours and always without any sleep.

She testifies she would stay awake with a mix of drugs, caffeine, and protein shakes.

"Jane" tells the court that she had one rule, that the escorts could not use drugs because she was unsure how it would affect their control.

But “Jane” says she took drugs because it made the “hotel nights” easier and less real.

  17. Jury shown text from 'Jane' to Diddy saying she felt indebted to himpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 6 June

    Nada Tawfik
    Reporting from court

Prosecutors are highlighting some of the text messages between “Jane” and Combs and how they changed over time.

Early on in the relationship, "Jane" testifies that she would send him sexually explicit messages, including that she wanted to have sex with escorts, because it was part of Combs’s fantasy.

Some messages of that kind from November of 2021 were read out in court.

The court is then shown messages from later on in their relationship, in September of 2023.

“Jane” writes to Combs that she is confusing his lust for her as real love and feels the only reason Combs is keeping her around is for the “hotel nights” with escorts.

She tells him she doesn’t want to play this role in his life anymore. She says she feels obligated to perform those nights for him to keep a roof over her head.

At that point, Combs had been paying her $10,000 (£7,300) a month rent for five months. Combs responded, “girl, stop.”

Warning: This post contains details some readers may find distressing

"Jane" testifies that she sometimes cried after these marathon "hotel nights", recalling one particular time when she says Combs called her for a “short” one which ended up lasting 18 hours.

“I was so high,” she says, adding that Combs had given her drugs.

When Combs saw her crying, he looked “disgusted”, she tells the court.

She says he was about to leave her alone, but she begged him not to. “I just wanted to be in his arms,” she said.

Combs would decide how many escorts were involved, how long the sessions would last and when she could be done, she testifies.

  19. 'Jane' cries as she describes 'hotel nights'published at 15:06 British Summer Time 6 June

    Sakshi Venkatraman
    Reporting from court

"Jane" is back on the stand this morning. She is breaking down into sobs as she describes more of the “hotel nights” she had with Combs and various escorts.

The jury hears a muffled recording - Jane testifies that in it, she is asking Combs if she can use protection with an escort.

She told the court that Combs was disappointed in her for that request and that he made all the decisions during those "hotel nights".

Yesterday, she told the court that she had initially participated in a "hotel night" because she believed it would be a one-off, but testified that Combs continued to ask her to engage in them, even after she had expressed that she did not want to.
