As we've been reporting, a large rescue operation has been launched off the coast of East Yorkshire.
We've just heard that the alarm was first raised at 9:48 GMT.
The oil tanker involved in the collision is on fire, two separate sources with knowledge of the crash have told the BBC.
Vessels with firefighting capabilities have been dispatched to the scene.
