Earlier today, a fan told me Dua “looks good in anything”.

    Totally agree.

However, I was also dying to see what she would wear tonight.

The answer? A black leotard, knee high boots, silver studded belt, silver chains.

It’s a bit chilly this evening. No matter.

This outfit is stunning and perfect for Dua’s energetic dance routines... win win.

A couple of months ago, Dua Lipa sat down with our music correspondent Mark Savage.

What does the British-Albanian star think about headlining this year's festival?

“I think about it all the time,” she said.

“Fifty per cent of my thoughts go to Glastonbury, then the rest are for everyday tasks.”

Her headlining performance will be her first appearance at Worthy Farm since playing the John Peel Stage back in 2017.

So did she give us any insight into her set?

“I’ve got to figure out a way to make 150,000 people feel like they’re in a small little nightclub,” she said.

“That’s the goal, and if there’s one place to do it, it’s gotta be Glasto.”

After criticism of last year’s predominantly white, male headliners, this year’s Pyramid Stage line-up has a 50:50 split between male and female acts, with two women topping the bill for the first time in the festival’s history.

Emily Eavis, Glastonbury’s organiser, recently told the BBC’s Sidetracked podcast she is particularly excited about giving Dua Lipa her first headline slot in the UK.

    She said:

    Quote Message

We’re creating this moment for her, and that’s really as exciting as anything.”

Asked about her favourite ever Glastonbury, Eavis picked 1995 - when Oasis and Pulp headlined -“because I just finished my GCSEs [and] it was the first year that I was allowed to camp”.

I’ve smuggled myself to the front of the crowd ahead of Dua Lipa’s headline set, and there’s a really sweet, communal vibe here.

Fans aren't just making new friends - they're letting shorter, younger audience members to the front for a better view.

The security guards, meanwhile, are borrowing phones to snap photos of the lucky few at the barriers.

I’ve never seen Dua Lipa live and that’s exactly the reason I want to see her tonight.

Her music has been the backdrop to my twenties, with her songs pumping on gay nightclub dancefloors - Physical, New Rules, Don’t Start Now and Electricity.

I’m excited to hear the arrangement of the setlist and see what her stage looks like, the choreography and, of course, the outfits.

    I’m here for this!

    Mark Savage

    LCD Soundsystem

The punky disco grooves of I Can Change and All My Friends might sound better suited to a sweaty nightclub - but they work just as well as a harder, edgier scene-setter for Dua Lipa.

Tears are shed and man hugs are shared as the nostalgia for their early 2000s back catalogue kicks in.

And one person can’t quite comprehend what they’re seeing.

“Imagine how many parties they’ve been to,” says a man next to me.

    “Unbelievable.”
