Scotland to see temperatures rise before thundery conditions in partspublished at 10:39 British Summer Time 12 August

Temperatures in Scotland are rising this week, even if it is not facing the alerts for heat issued south of the border.
It's just a week after Storm Floris passed through Scotland, leaving a cool autumnal feel.
Tom Crabtree, Met Office deputy chief meteorologist, said warmth would develop from today, with temperatures "peaking in the mid to high 20s".
Looking ahead to Wednesday, after a misty start in some areas, it's expected to be another sunny day but there is also the potential for thundery conditions in the north.
In a week that many pupils are returning to school, it's a final blast of sunshine to finish off the long summer break.
