Hello there election enthusiasts!
I love the idea of a full night of election drama - sitting up in front of the television, the BBC News live page updating on my laptop, slowly converting a mountain of snacks into a wasteland of empty wrappers and mainlining unseemly quantities of tea.
But we’re fighting biology here, fellow election-night crew.
So I’ve been chatting to sleep experts to come up with the definitive guide to getting through the night and not becoming a sleep-deprived monster the next day.

Labour activists are getting progressively more chipper as the night progresses, suggesting they are on course to win in Carlisle as the exit poll would suggest.
And there are whispers that Reform UK may be on course to do well here, even pushing the Conservatives for second place, though a Tory source has rejected this.
Liberal Democrat candidate Brian Wernham (below) said: "I think it’s going to be quite a large turnout in comparison to what we would have expected and those extra people have gone in and they've voted Reform.
"They are not voting for a local candidate; they’re voting for Nigel Farage."
Green candidate Gavin Hawkton (below) said it looked like an "obvious win for Julie Minns (the Labour candidate)" and that the Green campaign had been a "success".

The counting of votes for Penrith and Solway is under way here at Workington Leisure Centre.
But ballot boxes from Alston on the far eastern edge of this new constituency will take at least an hour and a half to arrive.
Conservative Party members here suggest this is likely to be a long night and are anticipating a close race.

Chris Wills, the Lib Dem candidate for Whitehaven, joked he wasn’t convinced it would be a Lib Dem landslide.
He said the exit polls were usually accurate and was expecting a Labour majority.
He said if that was the case, an effective opposition was needed.
Mr Wills added the system of two major parties needed to change as it created a love hate divide.
He said: "I'm hoping whoever is privileged enough to become the next MP keeps to their word and they do all the positive things they have promised."
It wouldn't be an election day without loads of great pictures of dogs at polling stations.
Here are a couple from Penrith that caught our eye earlier.

Conservative candidate for Whitehaven and Workington Andrew Johnson said: "I’ve seen the result of the exit poll but it remains to be seen what that will translate as.
"Until the results are counted, nothing is decided, but it’s going to be a difficult night for the Conservatives, there is no doubt about it."
