    The prosecution is continuing to outline what happened on Christmas Day at the block of flats in Bletchley.

    Prosecutor Deanne Heer KC says police arrived at 18:36 GMT following the 999 calls that were made by Bradley Latter and the murderer's son, Jake Brown.

    She tells the court that Thames Valley Police officers had tried to stop Jazwell Brown driving off.

    "He did not stop but drove directly towards them," she adds.

    The court hears that Bradley Latter, who was attacked in the neighbouring flat, also rang 999.

    Prosecutor Deanne Heer KC says he rang the emergency services to say he and his partner Teohna Grant had been attacked.

    Ms Heer says Mr Latter had described Jazwell Brown as "crazy" and they had spoken the day before.

    Ms Heer adds: "As far as he [Mr Latter] was concerned they were good neighbours."

    Prosecutor Deanne Heer KC continues to tell the court what Jazwell Brown's 18-year-old son Jake said happened on Christmas Day.

    She says his father Jazwell Brown and Joanne Pearson had been sitting in a living room smoking crack cocaine before Brown "began attacking" her.

    Ms Heer added: "He said [Brown] had just butchered Joanne Pearson.

    "He said it was like a watching a horror film."

    The prosecutor said Brown then went next door and attacked Bradley Grant and Teohna Latter.

    Prosecutor Deanne Heer KC tells the court Jazwell Brown's son Jake was also attacked by his father after the teenager attempted to save Brown's partner Joanne Pearson.

    He suffered a stab wound himself before grabbing his phone and shutting himself in a bathroom to call 999.

    Joanne was heard on a 999 call screaming: "Jaz, no, you're killing me, tell my children I love them."

    Jazwell Brown looks solemn as he listens to the proceedings from the dock.

    He is not looking up while the prosecution outline what happened on Christmas Day.

    Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC tells the court Brown stabbed his partner Joanne Pearson before beating her with a baseball bat.

    "He then took a knife and baseball bat to his neighbour's flat," she adds.

  8. 'Dangerous man'published at 10:55 British Summer Time 17 June

    After Brown pleaded guilty in April, Det Ch Insp Stuart Brangwin of Thames Valley Police described the attack as "brutal".

    "Jazwell Brown is a dangerous man and I am glad that he has pleaded guilty, accepting responsibility for his actions that day, but the deaths of Joanne and Teohna cannot be undone," he said.

    "This was a brutal attack on his own partner and neighbour, in their respective homes, where they should have been able to feel safe and secure."

    Celia Mardon, a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) lawyer, added the attack had caused "irreversible damage - robbing two women of their lives and seriously injuring two others".

    "While we may never know why Brown committed such mindless violence, we must remember the two lives that were needlessly lost," she added.

    In April, Jazwell Brown appeared at Luton Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to murdering Joanne Pearson and Teohna Grant on Christmas Day.

    He also admitted attempting to murder Bradley Latter and his teenage son Jake in the same attack, as well as unlawfully possessing a knife in a public place and causing unnecessary suffering to a Staffordshire bull terrier.

    Charles Miskin KC, representing Brown at the plea hearing, said the 49-year-old had shown remorse for his actions and was "profoundly sorry".

    The judge remanded Brown in custody pending sentencing today.

    Mr Justice Kerr also ruled that the child victim of attempted murder could not be identified in media reports of the case.

    The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) previously said Jazwell Brown "fled the scene" on Christmas Day.

    However, he had been spotted by eyewitnesses and captured on CCTV.

    "Responding to emergency calls, officers with Thames Valley Police quickly apprehended Brown and brought him into custody where he made several incriminating statements," the CPS said.

    "These included 'I lost my cool tonight' and describing the incident as 'not self-defence, plain murder, it's plain murder, not self-defence'."

    Joanne Pearson, 38, and Teohna Grant, 24, died at the scene after being stabbed.

    Ms Pearson was Jazwell Brown's partner and the two women had lived in a shared flat block along with him and with Joanne's dog, Tilly.

    Another neighbour Bradley Latter, 29, and Brown's teenage son Jake, who has since turned 18, were also injured.

    Police were called to Santa Cruz Avenue in Bletchey, Milton Keynes, at about 18:36 GMT on Christmas Day.

    Two women, aged 38 and 24, were stabbed and died at the scene.

    A man in his late 20s and Jazwell Brown's teenage son were also taken to hospital with serious injuries. A dog was also injured and taken to a vet.

    Brown, 49, of Santa Cruz Avenue, was arrested and charged two days later with two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, possessing a knife, blade or sharp-pointed article in a public place and causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.
