I’m sorry to my parents if you’re reading this, but I’ll admit, I occasionally use disposable vapes.
Like many of my peers, I like that they don’t smell, are cheap, and stop me from smoking, especially in social situations. It’s not a continuous habit, but I certainly do it more than I want, due to the accessibility of the product.
Like many others, I will be forced to switch up my vaping habits from Sunday onwards, as disposable vapes will be banned across the UK.
It is a move that was promised by the previous government, and put into place by Labour in January.
From 1 June, businesses cannot sell disposable vapes, which are designed to be used once and thrown away.
The action stems from the harm the discarded products have on the environment, the risk of fires they pose, and concern that they encourage young people to vape.
