Police say that as a result Sheffield Parkway, between Park Square roundabout and Derek Dooley Way, will remain shut for the time being.

Meanwhile, Sheffield City Council has closed the left-hand lanes on Shoreham Street to prevent people travelling towards Park Square roundabout.

There also appears to be major disruption to trams in the city, with no service on Sheffield Supertram between Sheffield Station/Hallam University and City Hall.

However, trains in the area seem largely unaffected.
