  2. No more sleeps 'til recesspublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time

    Good afternoon.

With the final Prime Minister’s Questions session out of the way, Keir Starmer has one last challenge to tackle before Parliament is officially on recess - his first appearance in front of the Liaison Committee.

The prime minister will sit in front of 12 senior cross-party MPs - all chairs of major committees in the Commons - to be questioned on his plans for the economy, public services and security from 14:30 GMT.

It’s been an intense few months for Starmer and Labour so there's plenty the senior MPs will want to discuss in this session.

The meeting will last a 90 minutes and will likely see Starmer quizzed on a wide variety of topics, from Labour’s new Budget measures to his commitment to building more homes and supporting Ukraine in the ongoing war against Russia.

We'll bring you all the top lines as well as some analysis as the session progresses.
