    The faces of the various party foot soldiers at the South Ribble count are not betraying their feelings over the exit poll, which suggests Labour will take the seat from the Conservatives.

    The usual earnest monitoring of the verification process continues - and no sign yet of either of the candidates from those two parties.

    Conservative candidates in eight Lancashire seats must be casting anxious glances at the ballot boxes with a Labour landslide predicted by exit polls.

    The most nerve wracking count will be in Burnley where the party won by only 127 votes when it took the seat from Labour in 2019.

    Even the Tories' highest majority in the county - for the seat of Fylde, where former MP Mark Menzies won with 19,254 last time around - could change hands.
