    Labour will be doing their best to make today about the NHS - and in particular out-of-hours cover, as the party claims nearly 600 fewer GP surgeries in England now open at evenings and weekends. The figures, which are being disputed, are being used by Labour to suggest that queueing for GP appointments is now intolerable. “After five years of David Cameron, patients at hundreds of surgeries can no longer get a GP appointment when they need one,” shadow health secretary Andy Burnham says. But the Conservatives, who are promising a “truly seven-day NHS”, insist an additional 7.5 million patients at 1,100 practices are benefiting from additional funding ignored by Labour.More details here.
