Ed Balls says the mansion tax would be in a first Labour Budget. What about doing the house valuations though, he's asked, to find out which homes would be liable to it. The shadow chancellor says he'll consult the experts but he believes he'd be able to introduce the policy straight away based on last year's valuations.

Ed Balls, are you sure you will be chancellor in an Ed Miliband government? That's the first question from Sky News' Dermot Murnaghan. The shadow chancellor uses the same line colleagues have used already. "We're not measuring any curtains," he replies. "I'm the shadow chancellor and I'm working very hard on Labour's first budget.. but when it comes to the making of the first cabinet, that's what the leader does."

As Andrew Marr wraps up, it's worth pointing out that David Cameron was alone on the sofa at the end of the show - we've become used to the [often slightly awkward] chat between guests sharing the sofa for the final bit of chit chat.

Cameron likes to contrast "welfare" with "in work". Yet £30bn of welfare spending is for those in work so isn't choice between one of other

Finally, on a completely different note, Mr Cameron is asked if fox hunting is his favourite sport, something he's apparently told the Countryside Alliance magazine. "I love walking, I love fishing, I love all sort of sports," he replies. On hunting, he says: "I haven't taken part in it for many, many years." Would you like to take part in it again if it was re-legalised: "I'm only focused on one thing," he insists.

Now on the comfy sofa rather than in the main guest chair, David Cameron doesn't answer when asked if he'd step aside in the event he fails to win a majority. "If I fall short I'll come back on your programme and you can ask me the question [then]," he adds.

The prime minster dismisses the Labour claim that his party has announced the sale of Lloyds shares seven times. He thinks the plan for a sale of shares "will help us to recover billions more and pay down our national debt".

What about the £8bn you've "found under a desk" for the NHS, Andrew Marr asks. David Cameron says "that's money from within the spending plans we've set out". "We have a track record of protecting the NHS," he adds.

"Obviously I want a country where people don't depend on food banks," says David Cameron. He says part of the increase in use is because the Tories changed the rules to allow information about their existence to be given to people visiting job centres. Mr Cameron says individual cases of people struggling can often be addressed by hardship funds which councils have available.

    David Cameron

He says he gets angry when people accuse the Conservatives of being the party of the rich because he believes he's helping those people who've struggled the most - and whom Labour would make worse off once again if they were re-elected.

    David Cameron

David Cameron says he wants to talk policy and that's what we move on to - the new right-to-buy offer from the Tories for housing association tenants. Just as the PM starts to answer he feels he's interrupted again. "When you're ready..." he says to Andrew Marr. He does get started eventually, saying it is right to give people the chance to own their own home and right to tell councils to sell off their most expensive properties. He dismisses criticism by the housing industry, saying those critics are often the people sitting in homes they own.
