Here's a brief look back at some of the main stories of the day:

Reaction to and discussion of last night's leaders' debates ran throughout the day, with a big emphasis on who would and would not do deals with whom - and what the "red lines" would be in any coalition negotiations.

Tonight, Ed Miliband told a Labour rally in Glasgow he would not do a deal with the SNP after the election because "nationalism never built a single school, or lifted people out of poverty".

The Conservatives campaigned on their economic record, brought out "that note" left by Liam Byrne when he left the Treasury and said they would not cut child benefit during the next parliament.

Nick Clegg set out a further red line for any coalition deal - a commitment to spending an extra £8bn a year on the NHS in England.

The SNP and Plaid Cymru both criticised Ed Miliband's comments on coalitions.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage said he could see his party providing votes to a Conservative/Lib Dem coalition.

We'll be back in the morning with the latest election news.

All four speakers from the opposition parties spoke very strongly on the question on welfare benefits. Both Kirsty Williams and Stephen Crabb looked somewhat uncomfortable in defending the 'Bedroom Tax', and they didn't seem to attract a great deal of sympathy from the audience when doing so."
