    Quote Message

There is no Mayism. I know you journalists like to write about it. There is good, solid Conservatism."

  9. Is there more chance of a 'soft' Brexit if the Tories win big?published at 12:23 British Summer Time 18 May 2017

Theresa May is asked whether a big Conservative majority means more chance of a so-called "soft Brexit" which could retain aspects of the UK's current relationship with the EU, such as single market or customs union membership.

Mrs May has previously indicated that the UK would have to leave the single market - but she claims that she is not interested in "hard" or "soft" Brexit but "the right deal for Britain".

  10. 'I'm a good Conservative'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 18 May 2017

Asked whether she can identify an economic cost to getting net migration down, Theresa May instead argues that high net migration can have an impact on people at "the lower end of the income scale because it can hold down people's wages".

Mrs May says she wants to see "people here" gaining skills while the UK can still attract "the best and brightest" from overseas.
