We are at the end of another busy day of the general election campaign.
Here is a recap of Wednesday’s main events:
- The day began with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn producing documents which he said showed that the NHS is "on the table" in trade talks with US officials.
- Prime Minister Boris Johnson, out and about in Cornwall, was quick to deny the claim, describing it as a diversionary tactic.
- Nicola Sturgeon launched the SNP’s manifesto with a promise that her party would stop Brexit and demand another referendum on Scottish independence in 2020. Our analysis of the party’s manifesto policies is here.
- Lord Heseltine, a former Conservative deputy prime minister, told a Liberal Democrat event that he was urging people to vote for the Lib Dems - a party that wants to put a halt to Brexit
- Mr Johnson apologised for the “hurt and offence” caused by Islamophobia in his party. Former Tory party chairwoman Baroness Warsi said the apology was a “good start” but she urged the party to press ahead with an inquiry into the issue.
- Earlier, it emerged that a Tory candidate in Glasgow had been suspended after an allegation of Islamophobic language.
