    The Eastern Daily Press, external is reporting that Norwich South MP Clive Lewis, who retained his seat for Labour, hinted that a leadership challenge of his own could be on the horizon after his party lost more than 50 of its seats.

    When asked if he would consider a leadership bid, Mr Lewis told the paper, "I wouldn't rule it out".

    "I want to play a key role in helping rebuilding our party," he said.

    It has also spoken to Jerome Mayhew, external, who founded the adventure company Go Ape, and is the new Conservative MP for Broadland.

    "It's a huge change to my life which I'm thoroughly looking forward to," he said.

    Jerome Mayhew has been elected MP for Broadland, meaning that the Conservative Party holds the seat with an increased majority.

    The new MP beat Labour's Jess Barnard by 21,861 votes. This was more than Keith Simpson’s 15,816 vote majority in the 2017 general election.

    Ben Goodwin of the Liberal Democrats came third and the Green Party's Andrew Boswell came fourth.

    Voter turnout was up by 0.5 percentage points since the last general election.

    Nearly 57,000 people, roughly three-quarters of those eligible to vote, went to polling stations across the area on Thursday, in the first December general election since 1923.

    Two of the five candidates, Andrew Boswell (Green) and Simon Rous (The Universal Good Party) lost their £500 deposits after failing to win 5% of the vote.

    The Conservative candidate beat Labour's Emily Blake by 26,195 votes, significantly more than the 18,312 vote majority in the 2017 general election.

    Josie Ratcliffe of the Liberal Democrats came third and the Green Party's Pallavi Devulapalli came fourth.

    Voter turnout was down by 1.7 percentage points since the last general election.

    More than 51,000 people, roughly two-thirds of those eligible to vote, went to polling stations across the area on Thursday, in the first December general election since 1923.

    The Conservative candidate beat Labour's Beth Jones by 21,275 votes, 4,597 more votes than the majority at the 2017 election.

    Christopher Brown of the Liberal Democrats came third and the Green Party's Ben Price came fourth.

    Voter turnout was down by 1.1 percentage points since the last general election.

    Businessman Jerome Mayhew is a new MP after holding the safe Tory seat of Broadland with a slightly increased majority.

    He polled 59.6% of the vote, with Labour in second place on 21.2%, a significant decrease from 29.6% in 2017.

    Mr Mayhew replaced parliamentary candidate Nick Conrad, who stood down after 24 hours over comments he made on his BBC Radio Norfolk show in 2014 about rape.

    Voter turnout was down by 1.4 percentage points since the last general election.

    Richard Bacon has held his safe seat in South Norfolk, albeit with a tiny 0.2% dip in his 58% share of the vote.

    Second-placed Labour would not have set their sights on this Tory stronghold and lost votes to the Lib Dems and Greens, polling 24% of the vote compared to 30.9% in 2017.

    Duncan Baker has been elected as the MP for Norfolk North, beating Liberal Democrat Karen Ward by 14,395 votes.

    The Conservative Party overturned a 3,512 vote majority to take the formerly Liberal Democrat-held seat.

    Emma Corlett of the Labour Party came third and the Brexit Party's Harry Gwynne came fourth.

    Voter turnout was down by 3.5 percentage points since the last general election.
