    Well it seems that some on the losing side can’t wait to start campaigning again. Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to social media to urge Michelle Obama to run for President in 2020.

    Mrs Obama is that extreme rarity, a popular figure in America's divided political landscape. There’s just one hitch: she’s said that she’s not really interested, external in the top job.

    It's been 46 years since the residents of Ottawa County voted for a president who didn't make it to the White House.

    From Lyndon B Johnson through Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama - for election after election, this small community called it right.

    And now, they've done it again - with a majority of votes (12,389) cast for Donald Trump.

    Back in July, the BBC went to Ohio to meet the people of Ottawa County - it was already leaning Trump.

    Called it. Again.

    The progressive Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren has issued a statement to the Boston Globe.

    "I'm intensely frustrated by the apparent likelihood that, for the second time in five elections, a Democratic nominee will have won the popular vote but lost the presidency," the senator writes.

    Media tallies put Clinton with more popular votes than Trump, despite his winning of the required 270 electoral college votes.

    A Facebook event, external has been created, calling for a "rally against Trump in NYC" tonight.

    Hosted by an organisation called "Socialist Alternative, NYC", the event invitation has already been shared more than 45,000 times, with 9,000 people saying that they will attend.

    "Build a movement to fight racism, sexism, and Islamophobia!", the organisers write.

    Kate Brown isn't the first LGBT governor, but she is the first to serve openly.

    As a high-profile Democrat, you might think John Kerry's priority right now would be to take a duvet day.

    After all, he's going to lose his job - and the opposing side have won control of the White House and held their power in the House and the Senate.

    But the Secretary of State is back at work, and he's told everyone at the State Department to "welcome our incoming colleagues warmly and professionally" for the sake of a "seamless transition".

    In a memo to employees, he also said: "The pace of events across the globe does not allow for timeouts".

    How many people actually voted for Harambe?

    It was a common joke in the run-up to the election. But now, some people online are pretty angry at the suggestion that thousands of people voted for 2016's most famous dead gorilla.

    Here's a round-up of some of the odd US election social media trends you might have missed.

    And just in case you've been living under a rock this year, here's our story from May, when Harambe the gorilla was shot dead in Cincinnati Zoo after lifting and dragging a little boy who had fallen in to his enclosure.

    It's very difficult to get a genuinely representative sample of how more than 120 million people in the US have voted.

    But one can try.

    To get an insight into which groups voted for Trump, take a look at the exit poll conducted across the country by Edison Research for the National Election Pool, a consortium of ABC News, externalThe Associated Press, external, CBS News, CNN, external, Fox News and NBC News.

    This is a big survey - of almost 25,000 voters - and they are the best figures available - but they should be used with caution.

     It throws up some odd results, such as that 10% of people who support the idea of a wall along the Mexican border nonetheless voted for Mrs Clinton, while 5% of people who thought the next president should continue the policies of Barack Obama voted for Mr Trump.
