    Sir Bruce Forsyth is returning to the London Palladium, the scene of some of his greatest triumphs, for a night of comedy, song and dance on 12 May.

    "I love doing the live show," the 87-year-old said on ITV's This Morning earlier. "I enjoy it more than anything I ever do."

    With shows in Cardiff and Norwich also lined up, the veteran entertainer is far too busy to be missing the regular hosting role on Strictly Come Dancing he gave up last year.

    "I don't miss doing Strictly because it was never the show that I thought it would be," he told Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley.

    "I thought it would be a comedy show [with] me getting among the contestants, showing them how to dance."

    Ion Trewin, literary director of the Booker Prize Foundation, has died at the age of 71.

    The former literary editor of The Times had a long association with the prestigious book prize, having chaired its panel of judges in 1974 and served on its management committee before becoming its chief administrator in 2006.

    Trewin edited Alan Clark's diaries and went on to write the colourful politician's biography. He also had a number of roles at the Weidenfeld & Nicolson publishing house, among them editor-in-chief.

    His death follows that of Martyn Goff, the previous Booker Prize administrator, who died on 25 March at the age of 91.

    BBC One's Poldark has been commissioned for a second series, enabling Aidan Turner to continue sending millions of hearts a-flutter.

    The actor will return alongside Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza for an eight-part series that will dramatise the third and fourth instalments of Winston Graham's book cycle.

    The current series, which continues on Sunday, has attracted an average audience of 8.2 million.

    If you're still having trouble telling the Avengers apart, help is at hand in a new trailer for their upcoming reunion Age of Ultron.

    Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Black Widow are all present and correct, each with a snappy quip. ("It's all in the swing!" wisecracks Thor after using his hammer against some robot adversaries.)

    The Hulk's in there too, as are franchise newcomers Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Oh, and let's not forget Ultron himself (pictured), a villainous machine with the voice of James Spader.

    A Salisbury artist has been working on a more unusual canvas - his pregnant wife's stomach.

    Alex Makwana has painted a number of designs, including some famous film scenes, on his partner Jo's tummy, with each taking four hours to create.

    Veteran blues guitarist BB King says he is "feeling much better" after being treated in hospital for dehydration caused by diabetes.

    "I want to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes," the 89-year-old musician said in a message posted on Facebook, external.

    King, known for such hits as The Thrill is Gone and Every Day I Have the Blues, has lived with Type II diabetes for more than 20 years.

    Kenneth Williams, the Emperor Nero, Sir David Frost - just a few of the famous people that Michael Sheen has portrayed on screen.

    To their ranks we will soon be able to add George Mallory, the British climber whose expedition to Mount Everest - spoiler alert! - came to a sticky end in 1924.

    Sheen will play the ill-fated mountaineer in a film called In High Places, described as "an epic story about the uncompromising nature of character and the sometimes overwhelming power of dreams".

    Andrew Scott and Kelly Macdonald will also appear in the biopic, due to begin shooting in September in India, London and northern Italy.

    Pop foursome Blue have hit back following reports they have been dropped by record label Sony, external after their latest album failed to sell.

    "We love Sony Music who have supported us and licensed the album for the UK and supported us on tour," the band wrote on Facebook, external.

    "Sadly there are still those 'journalists' that find it fun and amusing to preach their negativity and vitriol towards us.

    "Let the haters hate and in the meantime we are going to keep on doing what we love."

    Blue, pictured above in Comic Relief noses, will celebrate their 15th year together in 2016.

    Following news at the weekend David Lynch will not return for the revival of Twin Peaks, the stars of the show have made a video appealing for him to come back to the project.

    The director said he left the show because he had not been given enough money "to do the script in the way I felt it needed to be done".

    But the cast, including Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Peggy Lipton and James Marshall, have pleaded for Lynch to reconsider.

    Their two-minute video starts with the caption "Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like..." and goes on to see the stars explain why the director is so integral to the show.

    They've also set up a Facebook page, external asking for fans to share the video and support their plea.

    On Tuesday we told you about Taylor Swift landing four nominations at this year's Billboard awards.

    Only four out of the 41 categories had been announced at the time. Now, though, the full shortlist has been released.

    Swifty has boosted her haul to a whopping 14 nominations, with Sam Smith closely behind on 13 nods.

    The prizes will be dished out on 17 May.

    Lewis fans rejoice - ITV has announced that the Oxford-based detective will return for a ninth series.

    Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox will reprise their roles as Lewis and Hathaway, alongside Angela Griffin's DS Lizzie Maddox and Clare Holman's Dr Laura Hobson.

    The new six-episode series will go into production in May, with Inspector Morse creator Colin Dexter continuing as a consultant producer.

    Whately hinted the ninth series of the Morse spin-off would be the last in September, saying: "Everything has a life span and I think it's gone on long enough."

    Mischa Barton is taking her mother to court, alleging she stole money the actress earned while starring in drama series The OC and made endorsement deals that damaged the star's reputation.

    In a legal action filed on Tuesday, Nuala Barton is also accused of throwing her daughter out of a Beverly Hills home purchased with money Mischa had earned.

    It is further alleged Nuala bullied her daughter, has been withholding royalties and lied about the amount Mischa was paid for a 2013 film.

    "While Barton was busy perfecting her craft and turning her acting dreams into reality, her mother... was secretly scheming to exploit Barton's bourgeoning career," the action claims.

    Dame Helen Mirren has been speaking to the BBC about her latest film, a fact-based drama about an Austrian Jew's fight to recover a painting stolen from her family by the Nazis.

    Woman in Gold, out in the UK on Friday, sees Maria Altman (Dame Helen) and a young American lawyer (Ryan Reynolds) battle to wrest Gustav Klimt's 1907 portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I from the Austrian authorities.

    "It's a story of justice against the odds, that's why I wanted to do it," said Dame Helen. "There's courtroom drama in there too, and also the relationship of an older woman and a younger man, which you don't often get."

    Apart from Philomena of course, which also saw an older woman, played by Dame Judi Dench, team up with a younger man, played by Steve Coogan, to correct a historic injustice.
