  1. That's all, folks!published at 23:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

So that concludes our live coverage of this year's Baftas.

It was an evening short on surprises and long on thank yous, and we're feeling the lack of champagne here in the office - but at least no one has called us a bag lady!

We leave you with highlights from across this evening's ceremony.

    Until next year...

When I was younger, when I was 14, I was told by a drama teacher that I might do OK if I was happy to settle for the fat girl parts.

    Quote Message

So what always feel in these moments, is that any young woman who has ever been put down by a teacher, by a friend, by even a parents, just don’t listen to any of it, because that’s what I did – I kept on going and I overcame my fears and got over my insecurities

  3. Fry hits back at 'bag lady' criticspublished at 22:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

Stephen Fry is a little incensed that people took his comments about Jenny Beavan seriously. Tweeting immediately after the show, he explained that they were in fact good friends and she would have taken it in good humour. Some of his tweets are just too profane to repeat!

  4. DiCaprio's Oscar chances? Let the voters decide.published at 22:54 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

DiCaprio, now the surefire favourite to walk away with his first best actor Academy Award at the end of this month, said winning an Oscar was "absolutely beyond my control".

    Quote Message

I can't say we didn't put everything on the table creatively as an entire team in making this movie, so you know, it's up to the world now, and voters to decide

    Quote Message

But I'm really happy to be a part of a film like this, because I think that it's a genre, the epic sort of art house film is something that is basically becoming extinct in our industry... So I'm just happy that more people are going to hopefully finance films like this in future. That's my hope anyway

  5. 'Easy on the champagne', says C-3POpublished at 22:48 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

Here's some of celebrity thoughts (yes, they do have them - occasionally) on the evening's proceedings.

  6. Best of Britishpublished at 22:30 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

    The goodie bag.

Apparently it takes 10 days to manufacture each nominee gift bag. They cost £1,800 each and among the goodies are a fountain pen, a tin of tea and some squash (sorry, "cordial")

Who says the Brits can't do glamour?!

  7. To bag, or not to bagpublished at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

Not much love for Stephen Fry's 'bag lady' comment after Jenny Beavan collected her costume design award in a leather jacket...

And not much love for Mr Fry's outfit either.

  8. Quote of the nightpublished at 22:00 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

Perhaps the funniest turn came, not from the host, nor from the winners, but from actress Rebel Wilson, as she introduced the best supporting actor award:

    Quote Message

I have never been invited to the Oscars, because as you know they are racists, but the Baftas have diverse members and that’s what we all want to see in life… diverse members.

  9. It's not over yet...published at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

So now the serious bit is over, and - at Stephen Fry's bidding - guests at the Bafta ceremony have been urged to join him "eating and drinking like a wild, revelling warthog".

But we'll be staying put for a wee while, to bring you all the backstage news and catch up on the best bits of the ceremony.

  10. The thank yous keep comingpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

Clearly, Bafta has yet to deploy the Academy latest tactic, which this year will see them run a list of previously chosen thank yous on the screen behind when the winner collects their gong - so as to avoid the endless list of gratitude.

It might be a thought - Alejandro has told himself to shut up!

  11. Shout out to British actors from Inarritupublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

Picking up the best film Bafta for The Revenant, director Alejandro G Inarritu gave a special shout-out to the Brits.

"The tradition of filmmaking here is amazing. My father's favourite actors were British. He was always telling me "that's acting acting, not acting... "

  12. Big three for The Revenantpublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

So The Revenant has clinched three of the big four. And let's face, it there weren't really any girls in it to win the best actress award - although we're not sure what sex the bear was!

  14. A special birthday present for Leo's mumpublished at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2016

A poorly Julianne Moore presented the best actor award, despite having laryngitis.

Picking up his first Bafta, Di Caprio said he was "humbled and honoured".

"I have to say as an actor I have been so influenced by so many British actors throughout the years," he said, citing Tom Courtenay, Gary Oldman and Daniel Day Lewis

"I want to thank one particular British actor and that was my partner in this process - Tom Hardy.  I want to thank you for your fierce loyalty as a collaborator and as a friend."

He paid tribute to all the cast and director Inarritu, but reserved some special words for his mother:

"I didn't grow up in a life of privilege and this woman drove me three hours a day to a different school to show me a different opportunity. It's her birthday today - Mum, I love you very much."

The Room actress - now hot favourite to win the best actress Oscar - was not in London to pick up her Bafta on Sunday.

Receiving the award on her behalf, director Lenny Abrahamson said Larson was filming overseas:  "Brie, looking for a little bit of something light and nice to do after Room, is wrestling a large gorilla in Australia."

"Thank you it's a true honour, especially to be nominated with such amazing directors.

"This award comes with remarkable British punctuality - I want to celebrate, to share and to dedicate it to my wife. Tomorrow we will be celebrating our 24th anniversary together. That's what I call heroism, endurance and a love survivor!"

The director, who missed out on the award last year - but picked up the Oscar, thanked his leading man DiCaprio: "Leonardo - your talent and your commitment kept this film breathing".

He added: "I would not be here without people around the world who made this film possible, and I would like to thank the Native American cast - who allowed us to shoot in their lands."

"Thank you for your warm embrace and this extraordinary moment - a memory I shall cherish always," said Poitier.
