    Joanna LumleyImage source, PA

Before the night draws to a close, Jennifer Saunders presents Joanna Lumley with the prestigious Bafta Fellowhsip.

Joanna Lumley takes to the stage to accept the Academy's highest honour:

    Quote Message

We as actors, we're dragged about in golden carriages... we are furnished with words, costumed, made up, we have stunt performers to make us look better. We have people who drive us, who dress us. We have all this.

    Quote Message

For me this is paradise because I'm here where I wanted to be - I'm in the company that I wish to keep ever since I was young. I wanted to be with people who left race and religion and age and gender and shoe size and things outside the door when they came. People who are in our profession don't have those discriminations.

Joanna Lumley: Six times she was absolutely fabulous

    Quote Message

For one female role there are three male roles. As the father of two girls, that should change.

  20. WINNER: Reality and constructed factual - Muslims Like Uspublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Muslims Like Us

One of the contributors to the programme, Mehreen says: "There are 1.6 billion Muslims around the world and we knew it was impossible for the 10 of us to represent every single one of them. But the message behind [this programme] is not confined to one community. Regardless of your race or religion, we need to write our own narrative and stand up for what we believe in.

"So thank you BBC and Love [Productions] for being brave enough in the current climate to provide us with that platform, Bafta for supporting our show, and my wonderful family who despite the stereotypes have always encouraged me to be a strong woman who has a voice and uses it to make a change."
