Nathan, an 18-year-old law student, had this t-shirt specially made for him. It reads 'Obama is coming' in Luo.

    The obamatini

    Obamatini anyone?

While waiting for President Obama to arrive in Kenya you could try this cocktail invented by the Juniper Gardens bar in the capital, Nairobi. It's a combination of arugula (or rocket), gin, lime nectar syrup and cucumber.

The BBC's Jackie Christie - who had the tough job of sipping the drink - says it's "refreshing and alternative".

Arugula, by the way, is thought to be one of the president's favourite vegetables.

  3. From Africa Live: Journalists await Obamapublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 24 July 2015

    Wait for Obama

The press are now all set up at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to capture the moment when President Obama touches down.

He should be landing at just after 17:00 GMT - so only a four-hour wait in store for the president's "homecoming" as it's being called in Kenya.

Kenyans on Twitter have been sharing positive stories about the country in reaction

Kenya's Interior Minister Joseph Nkaisserry has asked CNN to apologise after describing the East African country as a "terror hotbed" ahead of President Barack Obama's visit.

Kenyans on social media have reacted angrily to the US news channel's report, using the hashtag #SomeoneTellCNN on Twitter.

Mere hours before CNN's remarks, BBC Pop Up released a mini-documentary looking at the social media group, which also goes by the name #KOT.

    That video is below.

We were asked during our meet-up that we cover the story of Kenyans on Twitter, the social media group that goes by the hashtag #KOT, external .

The label is a wide one, referring generally to Kenyans on Twitter. Kenyans on Twitter have emerged in East Africa as a digital powerhouse – a group that can mobilise within hours for protest or help jokes trend globally. Their taste for content and trends is as wide as their users.

They organise under a myriad of hashtags, the most common of which is #KOT and the most recent of which is #KOTvsUOT, external . The latter was recently created as part of a "twar" or Twitter war. Twitter wars are quarrels that take place between Twitter users of two countries, where they square off against each other and post pictures and text playfully making fun of each other.

All this and more is covered in our most recent video above.
