BBC Pop Up is like a fine wine, it gets better with age.
Benjamin Zand and I launched the unit a year ago today with the video below. It was posted to the BBC News website here on September 9, 2014 and ran on BBC World News television on the same day.

Since that time, we've filmed and edited more than 50 mini-docs and seven half-hour TV programmes.
We've also worked with more than a dozen, very talented BBC journalists and have been embedded in seven different cities.
Though we were most recently reporting from Kenya, we got our start with a six-month tour around the US, where we created a mountain of content – which can be found here or via the 'Key Video' tab above.
But we're growing and getting more internationally focused. Below is a recent promo for the new version of the project, BBC Pop Up Global.

Much has changed in the past year, from our logo to the operations of the unit.
What started as a team that tours the US to unearth small stories has turned into a global crowdsourcing unit and training programme for other BBC video journalists.
But most noticeably and importantly, the way we tell stories has changed. Below is my most recent mini-documentary.

So what's next? We're headed to Canada very soon, with our first stop in Quebec City on 21 September.
Below you'll find the introductory video to the Canada trip, which we're really looking forward to. We'll be headed to Edmonton and Yellowknife as well.

So here's to many more Pop Up stops during this next, exciting year.
And like always, thanks for your story ideas.
