  1. Nuttall: UKIP 'vindicated' on immigration and securitypublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 6 June 2017

The leader of UKIP has said his party has been "vindicated" on immigration and security issues in light of recent terror attacks in the country.

In a speech in Westminster, Paul Nuttall told the audience that he was "only sorry that this vindication has come too soon and has involved so much blood being shed".

    Quote Message

"If the terrible events of the spring and early summer 2017 mark a genuine turning point in political attitudes, the moment when moral relativism and political correctness are ushered off the stage and a new muscular no nonsense approach takes their place, then we will have a better chance of preventing another Manchester, or indeed another London Bridge, in the future."

Mr Nuttall said UKIP had been the only party "with the guts to tell it how it is" and called Theresa May "complacent at best" for her time in the Home Office.

But he said his criticisms of the prime minister "pale into complete insignificance in comparison to the the prospect of Jeremy Corbyn or a Diane Abbott government".
