Fire service warns of afternoon high tides
A high tide due around lunchtime is "actually slightly higher than the one we've had overnight", West Sussex Fire & Rescue has said.
Group manager Jim Mackay said on X, formerly Twitter, anyone "stuck or trapped" by flood waters should "stay on high ground and contact the emergency services by dialling 999".
Station suffers 'significant' damage in storm
A coastwatch station in Devon has suffered "significant" damage and could be beyond repair, according to its manager.
Peter Oliver, of the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), told the BBC the foundations of one of its buildings in Exmouth "gave way" overnight.
A yellow warning for wind had been in place for the South West until 06:00 BST.
'Flooding happened in a matter of minutes'
Andrew Sleeman, who runs a bike shop in Littlehampton, described what happened when he went to check on his boat just before midnight.
“The flooding happened in a matter of minutes," he said.
"There was a three metre surge. It was a horrendous night but brilliant to see the emergency services helping out."
He said the town had flooded four times in the 36 years he had been there.
Businesses clean up and count the cost
It's definitely not weather for cricket on the Sussex coast today.
Staff at the Littlehampton Indoor Cricket Centre posted a message on their website saying it was "closed until we dry out".

The Environment Agency has strongly advised motorists not to drive through floods.
'The garden was flooded within minutes'
Julie, who lives in Rope Walk, Littlehampton, said: "Last night, when it came up to my front door I was out putting sand bags up.
"Then it just surged and as I ran round the back of the house the garden was flooded within four or five minutes."
She also said she was concerned about high tides predicted for Tuesday afternoon and overnight into Wednesdsay.
"Where everything's so wet and nothing can drain away, it's going to keep building up," she added.
'Never seen water break the banks like that'
Paul Crease, licensee of the Arun View in Littlehampton, said he stayed on the premises after locking up, having been warned about the expected high tide.
He said: "We hung about until high tide at one o'clock, when water came up through the storm drains and into our cellars.
"Thankfully the front side of the pub on the river side was protected by a flood defence scheme several years ago unlike the other side of the river.
"I've never seen water break the banks like that in all the years I've lived here.
"It was awful seeing that amount of water going through the properties, and literally nothing anyone can do."
Public health advice for island flooding clean-up
Guidance has been issued for islanders of the potential health risks of floodwater following the high-tide flooding.
When cleaning up floods, Isle of Wight Council has recommended wearing waterproof gloves and rubber boots.
It said people should wash their hands in warm, clean water and soap, then rinse and dry them, or use hand sanitiser if no clean water is available.
The authority said people should please also avoid using coastal paths and stay away from affected coastal areas.
East Cowes: Island flooding as second high tide hits
The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the high tide for the coast around the Isle of Wight.
Video filmed overnight shows roads around the Red Funnel terminal in East Cowes flooded.
The next high tide, which is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong westerly Force 6 winds, is expected around midday.
Urging residents to be prepared, Isle of Wight Council said sandbags would be available to residents.

Warning from fire service on next high tide
West Sussex Fire and Rescue have issued an update on the flooding incidents at Littlehampton and Bracklesham overnight.
Group Manager Mackay posted on X that the next high tide was due at "around lunchtime, which is slightly higher than the one we have had overnight".
The fire service is warning anyone trapped by flood water is to stay on high ground and contact the emergency services.

Damaged beach cafe hopes to return 'in no time'
A beach cafe in Cornwall has been damaged during high winds and stormy seas.
Castle Beach Cafe in Falmouth lost its outside seating area, three beach huts and suffered some water damage.
Emily Davidson, who runs the cafe, said she hoped to be "back up and running in no time".
She said she was alerted to the severity of the storm at about 18:00 BST on Monday after seeing a video of "the beach huts being dragged into the sea".
A yellow warning for wind was in place across the south-west of England, due to storm Pierrick - named by Meteo France, until 06:00 BST on Tuesday.
Floodwater engulfs new development
One man in Shoreham-by-Sea said flooding in the town was “scary and unprecedented”, after he stayed awake until the early hours putting flood defences around his property.
Gareth Theobald, 36, told the PA news agency: “I was out the front of the building and watching the water just get higher and higher and higher, and then helping or stopping traffic going into the floodwaters, and then just watching in disbelief as the whole of Brighton Road and our multimillion-pound development was being engulfed by floodwaters.
“The amount of water is scary and unprecedented, and those houses opposite our development are lower-ground flats and they were all flooded under a foot or so of water.”
Waves crash over Portsmouth sea wall
The strong winds and high tide sent waves crashing over the sea wall near Clarence Pier in Portsmouth.
The promenade was left partly submerged in the early hours as the tide reached its peak.
Somerset: Blue Anchor caravan park flooded
There have been more problems in Somerset where a caravan park has been flooded.
Pictures of Blue Anchor, near the coast of the Bristol Channel, show the extent of the problems where several fields are now underwater.

The Environment Agency have issued a flood alert for the high tide for the coast around the Isle of Wight.
The high tide, which is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong westerly Force 6 winds, is expected around midday.
Urging residents to be prepared, Isle of Wight Council said sandbags would be available to residents in the following locations:
The authority said that as a precautionary measure it recommended flood protection be installed at Medina Road, Cowes, one hour before high tide.
For one hour either side of high water, very minor impact flooding is expected to affect some seafront roads, esplanades and car parks across the island.
Hundreds evacuated in West Sussex
West Sussex Fire and Rescue said it was still dealing with three severe flooding incidents in Earnley, Littlehampton and Bracklesham, after the River Arun burst its banks.
It said 180 people were evacuated from Medmerry Holiday Park in Earnley overnight, after crews were called at 01:00 BST.
Crews have now left the scene but the situation will be monitored for the rest of the day.
About 20 people have also been evacuated from Bracklesham Caravan and Boat Club, after it was flooded just after 06:30.
Water levels have not yet receded and may increase during the day, with warnings for people to get to higher ground still in place.
