    Abbkr isn't in court today, but instead appearing via video link from a secure hospital.

    A previous sentencing hearing was postponed after the judge ordered psychiatric reports to be prepared, after the trial heard one doctor had judged him to be suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.

    He is being assisted by an Arabic interpreter, as he has been during previous hearings.

    Mohammed Abbkr will be sentenced for attempted murder

    Good morning and welcome to our coverage ahead of the sentencing of Mohammed Abbkr.

    In November, a jury found the 29-year-old guilty of attempted murder after two ederly worshippers were set alight as they left mosques.

    He sprayed petrol on and set alight Hashi Odowa, 82, and Mohammed Rayaz, 70, during attacks in London and Birmingham in February and March 2023.
