    Junior doctors in England began a second 24-hour strike over pay and conditions at 08:00.

    Routine check-ups, appointments and tests could be disrupted, but local trusts have already been tweeting about their arrangements.

    East and North Herts NHS Trust, externaltold patients, external to assume appointments are going ahead unless they are told differently, while Bucks Healthcare, external said its emergency department, external would be "running normally".

    A lorry driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash which closed the M1 in Bedfordshire overnight.

    Two lorries collided on the northbound carriageway between J12 for the A5120 at Flitwick and J13 for the A421 at 23:20 on Tuesday.

    The road re-opened just before 07:00.

    The proposed closure of fire stations in Milton Keynes will be decided today.

    The Bucks and Milton Keynes Fire Authority, external is meeting to decide whether to close Great Holm and Bletchley stations, and move to a new facility at West Ashland to be shared with Thames Valley Police, external.

  4. Travel: Accident on M25published at 08:40 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2016

    Two lanes are closed on the anti-clockwise M25 between J26 for the A121 at Waltham Abbey and J25 for the A10 at Enfield due to an accident involving a lorry and a car. Congestion is back to J27 for the M11.

    Meanwhile, the M1 northbound has re-opened between J12 for the A5120 at Flitwick and J13 for the A421 after being closed overnight following a serious accident involving two lorries.
