    A Luton man has said councils and police are failing to take action after travellers appeared outside his home on London Road near Luton Hoo on Friday.

    Edward Doherty says the travellers are making him feel "very intimidated" and have sometimes blocked his drive. When I went to visit them, the travellers told me they "have rights".

    Bedfordshire Police, external say they're working with the landowner and partners to ensure appropriate action is taken. Central Bedfordshire Council, external say they have started the eviction process.

    On the second day of an inquest into the death of a man who died at Luton Police Station, the coroners' court is due to hear from the custody officers who searched him.

    Yesterday, Ampthill Coroner's Court heard Istiak Yusuf, 25, had taken a large amount of drugs despite being searched after his arrest.

    The court is also expecting to be shown CCTV footage of Mr Yusuf being checked in at the station and the checks done on his cell. It may also hear from his family who have said they are "heartbroken" and just want to know how he came to die in the care of the police.

    All lanes have reopened on the northbound M1 after J13 for the A421 at Bedford after a van overturned earlier, but traffic is still queuing for six miles with congestion back to J12 for the A5120 at Flitwick.

    It's also very busy on surrounding roads with long delays on the northbound A5 between the B4540 Luton Road junction in Markyate and the A4012 Leighton Road junction in Hockcliffe.

    An inquest continues today into the death of a man at Luton Police Station in June last year.

    Istiak Yusuf, 25, had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

    Yesterday, Ampthill Coroner's Court heard Mr Yusuf had taken a large amount of drugs despite being searched after his arrest.
