    Two men have been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the leg in Bedford yesterday.

    The 18-year-old was attacked in Kennet Rise at about 11:30 in what police believe was an "isolated incident".

    He was taken to hospital, but his injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

    Two men from Bedford, aged 22 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

    The main entrance to the St Thomas More Catholic Secondary School was closed while police dealt with the incident, but it reopened in the evening.

    The horse was seen without a rider in the Hatley Road area at about 16:10 on Friday and a woman in her 60s was found nearby with serious injuries.

    She was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead the next morning.

    Sgt James Wood said: "While we have made good progress in our investigation, we are trying to piece together exactly what happened in this tragic incident.

    "There were a number of people in the area, so if anyone saw or heard anything, please get in touch."
